Baby its cold outside

Charlie is a schnauzer dog, so is rather particular in his ways
His human runs a market stall so that’s how they spend their days
He looks around the little market town with people bustling in groups
Charlie watches people queuing up for steaming bowls of pumpkin soup
Fairy lights twinkle along the shop windows showing all the goods inside
The evening air is crisp, people wrapped up warm quickening their stride
Ladies with knitted gloves walk past clutching mugs of hot chocolate drink
Filled to the brim with pink and white marshmallows slowing starting to sink
Christmas is fast approaching; trees are decorated and shops are full to the brim
People balancing bags, rushing to find their special gifts before the holidays begin
Dozens of winter boots walk past Charlie crunching the snow that’s falling down
Charlie cocks his ear at the church choir carols, a beautiful festive sound
The smell of roasted chestnuts and mince pies mingle in the frosty air
Market traders happily filling baskets with their puddings and festive wares
A pork pie falls out of a ladies’ basket rolling towards Charlie licking his lips
Well, it’s only fair, he thinks, that a market dog gets the occasional tip
Snowflakes are falling thickly now as the little church bells softly ring
He looks at the smiling faces and the Christmassy happiness they bring
So come down to the market and get in the Christmas spirit with pride
But be sure to wrap up warm, cos baby it’s really cold outside!
